How to Deactivate Voicemail on Android?

Modified on Tue, 23 Apr at 7:50 AM

1. Open the Phone Settings: Tap on the three-dot menu icon located in the top-right corner of the Phone app. From the drop-down menu, select "Settings."

2. Call Settings: In the Phone settings, locate and select the option named "Call settings." This is where you can configure various call-related settings, including voicemail.

3. Voicemail Settings: Look for an option similar to "Voicemail" or "Voicemail settings" within the Call settings menu. Tap on it to access the voicemail settings.

4. Voicemail Setup: In the Voicemail settings, you may see a toggle switch labeled "Voicemail." Disable this switch by tapping on it. This action will prevent your device from receiving and storing voicemail messages.

5. Confirm Action: Depending on your device, you might be prompted to confirm turning off voicemail. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your choice.

6. Select the “Deactivate” button to turn off your voicemail. If you see a toggle button, switch it off.

Voicemail service is often controlled by mobile carriers, so you may need to contact your carrier’s support team to disable voicemail.
